Most people will have horror stories about trying to shop for clothes and accessories online. Whether the item doesn't look like it did in the pictures, to sizes not fitting correctly, there are all manner of pitfalls.

With this being said, one woman was left baffled after buying a handbag from Shein.Leah Higgins was scrolling though the shopping site to find clothes and accessories for her upcoming hen do. She was so excited when she stumbled upon the 'perfect' handbag for her trip.

The oval-shaped bag came in a pearly white material and is adorned with golden details, making it cute and practical for her big bash. However, she was quickly filled with frustration when the £8 accessory arrived.

Leah took to TikTok to ask for help with the item, which she was seriously struggling with. She admitted: "I don't think anyone's gonna be able to help me out."

She continued: "I ordered a bunch of bags from Shein for my hen do, right. And one of them has arrived and she is stunning. She is everything I imagined she'd be.

"This looks a lot more expensive than the £8 I spent on her. She's gorgeous, she's a beautiful size, the material's absolutely everything.

"But when I tell you for the past hour, I have been trying to open this bag, and I can't figure it out."

Frustrated by the fastening, Leah added: "For the life of me, I cannot open this bag and it's sending me a little bit."

The bottom of the bag has hinges, so presumably it can open. It also has holes at the top for where a strap can be hooked on, as well as a golden knob to help fashion fans get into it.

Leah continued: "My partner is convinced that this does not open, because online, there is no pictures of it open. But I am convinced that this opens."

The shopper tried to pull the bag apart with force, which opened it up a little bit. However, she was unable to get anything inside it.

Other customers told Leah they'd had the same problem, but they eventually managed to prize the bag open. So in follow-up video, Leah tried again.

She tried to crack the bag "like a nut" – and even got tweezers involved at one point! Then when it eventually opened, she could barely get anything into the clutch.

In the comments section, people had theories about what could have gone wrong with the bag. One viewer argued: "My guess is that it had the tiniest amount of paint or lacquer that stuck the sides together."

Meanwhile, others were fuming about the lack of practicality the item offers. One said: "Nah, I'm mad that after all that it only opens two inches wide?"

They jokingly added: "First they take our pockets and now this? Nah. I'm fuming."

Shein has been approached for comment.
